Tin can you approximate a person's ethnicity without talking to them? If you can, how authentic are you? For me, I am a native Korean and been in the states for about eight years. I can identify boyfriend native Koreans at most 80%~ninety% accurateness by but looking at them. They tend to dress and have hair styles that are quite peculiar and noticeable. (at to the lowest degree to me) This accuracy drops to dramatically when estimate 2d generation Korean immigrant's ethinicity. If you are 3rd generation? forget about information technology. I guess if you lot are familiar with certain group it's easier to notice the subtle cultural cues and characteristics that give out ane's ethiniticity. I tin can identify Chinese and Japanese at about 60~70% accuracy. For other indigenous groups, I am quite miserable in identifying their ethnicity or nationality. How about nearly you? Honestly, noses are what I use to stereotype people . There'southward such a divergence between Korean, Chinese, Japanese, etc. noses I tin unremarkably telephone call what race someone is on sight. EDIT: coming from a white guy

Lol op but similar you I'm Korean and I can easily tell when somone is Korean or not and a lot of white people call up all Asians expect the same but we know whats up.

haha. all throughout schoolhouse i used to be mistaken for asian. i use to play poker during lunchtime with the asians, and play soccer/basketball with the mexicans. xD i'chiliad mexican/native american/irish. mostly native american.

I find I am usually correct at guessing Asian people'due south nationalities, though non any other ethnicity. I don't know why, but to me the difference between a Japanese and a Chinese person's facial construction for example is a lot easier to differentiate than say an Irish gaelic and British person.

I can tell the difference between dissimilar kinds of white people, simply I don't know which kind comes from which country. Asians are really easy to tell autonomously. Vietnamese looks super different. Korean, Chinese, and Japanese people all accept slightly different facial structures and eyes.

I'yard having a difficult time with indonesias, filipino and thai since we nearly look the same.. Body of water represents lol! But with Chinese, Korean and Japanese there seems to be a footling different with the facial structure. Anyhow except for the celebs cause they well-nigh look alike.. I'd say with the style they dress. if it'south a picayune crazy will get for japanese, if very stylish korean, chinese people are kinda subtle when it comes to wearing clothes.

You lot can't tell ethnicity only by looking at them. Those pictures aren't very good and people expect unlike. I couldn't even see the Korean tourists confront that well, she looked at least half white.

aye the offset test is not really well designed. What you see is a bad picture showing yous a face of some ethnicity simply and then you guess what country that person lives in. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The thing that really collection that home for me was when they showed a picture of a generic looking hispanic guy with sunglasses on and you go to choose betwixt a agglomeration of countries with predominantly hispanic populations - only you'd be wrong considering he lives in the US :p

This test is crap. They showed ane motion-picture show of a girl, I chose wrong and it turned to be a girl from the Netherlands. 2 questions later, the same daughter appears and I naturally chose Netherlands. I was incorrect.
